On the Kings order, dArtagnan arrests
FOUQUET the Superintendent of Finance on the 4th of September 1661. Placed
under his sole guard during many years, dARTAGNAN has not only managed to make
himself appreciated by this prestigious prisoner but also, to the Kings satisfaction
coped with this delicate mission.

Escorting the Royal suite through his natal country to get to St Jean de Luz, he aroused
admiration and pride from his compatriots. Two months later, heading the Great Musketeers,
he participates in the capital to the sumptuous festivities of the marriage of the royal
consorts.
